Vigorous and cold-hardy, Rubus idaeus (Everbearing Raspberry) is an upright, self-fruitful, thorny shrub which produces 2 crops on each cane: a light crop in early summer followed by a heavy crop in the fall. Clusters of white, rose-like flowers give way to medium to large, juicy, tart, rose-red raspberries, which are great for fresh eating, freezing, preserves and pies. Raspberries are usually planted in rows and trained along a post and wire system. But, if you have a smaller garden, you can still grow raspberries, either in containers or trained up a single post. A full sun to part shade lover, this plant is best grown in ally rich,slightly acidic,moist but well-drained soils.Raspberries dislike waterlogged soils and shallow chalky soils. For best results, plant in a sheltered, sunny position. They will tolerate light shade, but the yield is likely to be reduced.
HARDINESS ZONE.3-8
GROW. Space the raspberry seeds 1 inch apart on the surface of the seed-starting compost. Press the seeds.Cover them with a very thin layer of medium-grit sand.Leave the tray under those conditions for the winter months to cold stratify.Remove the nursery tray from the cold frame in spring once daytime temperatures reach 60 F.

TALL.Grows up to 3-4 ft. tall (90-120 cm) and 2-4 ft. wide (60-120 cm).
